Why It Is So Hard To Make Money Online [The Real Truth Exposed]

The Real Truth To Why It Is So Hard To Make Money Online

Many people have a false understanding when it comes to making money online and we’re under the impression that there are some secret codes.

Why do we believe that there is a magic potion or hidden system no one knows about which will deliver us guaranteed money once we get our own website?

Why is it so?

Is it because of our wild imagination or have we been somewhat influenced, misled, and lied to?

Nevertheless, one way or another let’s do some digging to find out why.

Waking Up Excited About New Possibilities

When I first woke up to the idea of doing something online it was back in 2015.

I was baffled when I learned that close to half the world’s population which at the time was 3,185,996,155 billion people were using the internet.

It bothered me how oblivious I was to this. I couldn’t even fathom the amount of time I’ve wasted doing absolutely nothing about it.

This realization shook me up and then all I could think of about was doing something online.

However, a roadblock hit me after that though, and I realized I had no idea what to do or how to even do it.

Is It My Imagination?

Bear with me here, numbers are boring, but once you understand the numbers, it opens your eyes to something huge.

To recap once again, back in 2015 there were 3,185,996,155 billion people using the internet. These people are going on the internet searching for something which in every case results in someone making money.

So, even a 1% of this 3,185,996,155 billion equates to 31,859,961 million people or possible transactions.

Now let’s scale down, .01% (10th of a percent) would be 3,185,996 million, .001% (100th of a percent) would be 318,599 thousand and even .0001% (1,000th of a percent) is 31,859 thousand.

Can you believe it?

Not to beat it to death, but even .00001% (10,000th of a percent) would still represent 3,185 thousand people.

And as small as .00001% sounds, that is still a large number of people because that could represent 3,185 potential transactions.

Being awoken to the numbers got me so excited because I thought I could certainly get .00001% (10,000th of a percent) of 3,185,996,155 billion people searching the web do something with me.

However, to better my odds I reasoned with myself and thought in the worst case scenario since I have little to no knowledge I can surely generate at least .000001% (100,000th of a percent) or 318 potential transactions.

Why? Because I know these billions of internet users were online doing whatever they were doing not just once for the whole entire year.

I think it’s very easy to say that the majority of online consumers are on the internet almost 24/7. Wouldn’t you think?

Still, The Reality Was I Had Little To No Idea How To Do It

In any event, with no idea as to how to do anything, the only things that came to mind were eBay, Amazon and other online retailers that I’ve made purchases from online.

I always wondered how they make big dollars from all the billions of people that are utilizing the internet.

Nevertheless, the reality was that I did not have a website or the merchandise to do what they were doing.

Still, that did not stop me from speculating if I only had the website with the merchandises then “Walla” everyone would start buying the items and I’ll wake up a millionaire.

Well, I guess I wouldn’t be surprised if most beginners and newbies think that would be the case as well.

Wouldn’t you agree?

Wouldn’t you agree that if you have your own goods and services to offer on your website, that you should be set for life? Right?

So, why shouldn’t this be the fact? It should work, right?

Let us, you and I find out the truth if this is really the case.

To begin with, let’s go over;

  1. Everything that is associated plus the costs incurred to get a website operating and “go live” on the worldwide web.
  2. Break down the steps to see how, what, why and who is required to set everything up.
  3. Along the way, go over the obstacles you may face.
  4. Draw your own conclusions on how realistic, fabricated, influenced, or exaggerated it is to make money online.

What would you say if we begin and try to figure out Why It Is So Hard To Make Money Online?

First off, listed below are 1) Everything that is associated and costs incurred with a(n) website/online/internet business to “go live” on the worldwide web.

Please be advised more components which are not listed below may be needed depending on the complexity of the website.

Ugh, more numbers, well, it’s better for you to understand how much it could cost you ahead of time rather than catching you off guard later. Right?

The costs are in US dollars.

We need now to understand what role these associated components will play on a website.

2) Breaking down the steps to see how, what, why and who is required to set everything up.

First, what’s a must have, what to know, how to obtain and who can do it.

Website, Domain Name, and Web Hosting (These are mandatory, the lifeblood and without you don’t have a(n) website/online/internet business.)

  • Website: The Storefront of your business. Cost: $0 to $1000+. (Options) 1) Pay for a professional service, 2) learn how to do it yourself for free on your own or 3) obtain it for free.
  • Domain name: This will represent the name and address of your website. The cost can range from $0 to $100+ a year. Purchase from Registrars (Godaddy, Siterubix, etc.) or can be acquired for free.
  • Web Hosting: Acts like a key to your house. This is the website storage space and how strange it may sound for beginners and newbies it enables you to access to your website. Cost: $3 (maybe less for a promo) to $100+ monthly. Acquire from a Hosting company (Godaddy, Siterubix, HostGator, etc.) or from the right source get limited hosting for free.

When these three (3) main components/elements the Website, Domain Name, and Web Hosting are linked together, the website is now ready to “go live” on the worldwide web.

Other components/elements:

Training, Support, Help, and Guidance: To continue, the second most important component which in my opinion should be considered the most important would be the training, support, help, and guidance. This component can be acquired for free, however, you would face challenges with much of your time and effort required plus, in the end, you may have nothing to show. More on this topic will be covered, continue reading on.

Keyword Research Tool: A tool designed to find search terms (keyword) people are searching for. It would determine how many competitors are using the same keyword, how well the keyword would rank with the search engines and calculate how many clicks/visitors/customers/traffic your web page/post/media should receive.

Grammer Check/Editor: As simple as it sounds that what it does. Checks spelling and grammar.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer): Encrypted security ensuring all data are kept private and integral.

Business Email Address: A business email address for your website.

Merchants Account: Paypal would be an example. A fee and/or a percentage of transaction will be charged.

Autoresponder: An automated email responder which sends out your listed email addresses as a group on a scheduled basis.

Video and Audio: Making and editing your video and/or audio for youtube or your website.

Search Engine Optimization: (SEO) is the process of getting a page/post to rank at the highest position or rank as possible with the search engine e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. A reliable training program will include Search Engine Optimization process included in their lessons/training.

Copywriting: Use of texts/words for the purpose of advertising and marketing your website online or offline.

Advertisement: Paid advertisement through search engines e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc., know as PPC (pay per click). Your advertisement is shown as impressions on their search results and you are charged for per click basis.

Software Setup and Maintenance: Professional service for web design, creating website and maintenance.

Continued Website Maintenance: Ongoing continued website maintenance.

Marketing Your Website Online: Paying professional services for promoting your website through SEO, social media, email list, business directory, offline marketing, etc.

So what’s the bottom line, how long does it take to go live on the web and who can perform these tasks?

  • You could hire someone: If you’re going to hire a professional it will take 1 – 4 weeks, depending on how complex you want to make your website. Professionals charge $300 to $1000 for a standard website and for a custom website $5,000 to $10,000. Keep in mind, in most cases this would be for the Website only and you need to acquire the Domain Name, and Hosting in addition on your own. Plus, bear in mind, what happens after e.g. how and what you would do to make money with the website is not included or in other words, no training provided.
  • Do it yourself for free: There are no shortages of Free data online and sooner or later you will find one. If you locate the right source you can literally get a Website, Domain Name, and Hosting in a matter of minutes for free. The key is finding the right source online. However, then again, afterward, now you need to figure out how you could earn money online and find it all for free.
  • Do it yourself for free in addition pay for help/assistance/guidance/training: Once again, the key is finding the right source online. This can be a very time-consuming task not to mention if the source you’re willing to pay for would be for the best value. More on this topic below.

3) Getting over the obstacles you may face.

As good as doing it yourself for free sounds or perhaps paying someone, you will run into tons of roadblocks along your path. Finding the right guide/help will be a pain, finding credible sources will also be painfully hard.

Many of the things you read will conflict with other things you have read. And other articles and pointers may leave you confused or lead you going around in circles.

Most important to know is, you need to control the time you want to invest/limit for the research/searches because there’s no end to the data on the worldwide web.

I have found that the quickest and most efficient way to learn about a product/program/service is to read its reviews. Not just one review but many of the reviews.

Look for the ratings that aren’t 5 stars. Although most 5 star reviews are reliable, however, some can be completely biased. So, look for reviews where the user of the product/program/service has legitimate issues.

If there are no star/stars rating reviews then you need to search the keyword for the product/program/services, etc, and read the individual post/pages/articles like what you’re reading now for example and do your own due diligence.

By looking for legit cons rather than pros you can greatly reduce your chance of being scammed and as a result, get the best value for your buck.

Based on the pros and cons that you’ve reviewed, you can narrow your searches down to the best product/program/service that you have found. Once decided, you now need to get your hands dirty and become proactive by testing the reliability of these product/program/service yourself.

Although how tempting it would be to do everything for free, in most cases, it will come at a cost. I don’t just mean monetarily but your time and effort would be needed to be applied to see if there be any positive results.

So, in short, be prepared to pay for training, support, help, and guidance if you want to save your valuable time.

Having said that, I like many others, had to go through the same scenario as anyone else under these circumstances. And of which ultimately lead me to find the most reliable source.

However, for me, it paid off when I finally discovered the valid source. Because without their training, help, support, and guidance from start to finish, establishing my online business would have been all but nearly impossible.

To make a long story short, it has been over three years since I’ve started my own online business.

Hence, to repeat, do your own due diligence on my recommendation and don’t take my word for it. Nonetheless, follow my lead on searching for the good and bad reviews/pages/posts/articles on the recommendation I’m about to make.

One final note, Wealthy Affiliate’s training lessons, and resources will not automatically make money for you. You need to put in the time and effort for it to work because it is Your Online/Internet/Website Business and Not Wealthy Affiliate’s Business.

This is not a way for you to instantly gain money or a “Get-Rick-Quick” scheme. Please be prepared to put in the time building up your website and expect to see results at the earliest months to a year for any source of profit.

Why? Because our training, tools, and resources are primarily geared to create visitors/customers/traffic organically or free.

Please don’t get me wrong, what I’m trying to say is unless you are willing to spend additional money out of your pocket to advertise your website with Google, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook, and/or other advertisement services/programs, don’t expect immediate results.

Advertising can cost anywhere from a few cents, few dollars, hundreds or even thousands of Dollars A Day. That’s right, you heard me right, however, results can come quickly in minutes or days.

Unfortunately, there are no guarantees you’ll make a profit by advertising and you may even lose money. In other words, you could end up spending more than what you’re getting in return. Let me just say it’s not something you would want to do going in blind.

The good news is that Wealthy Affiliate has training lessons dedicated to how to properly advertise with Google, Bing, Yahoo, Facebook, etc.

I could go on and on however let me stop here and allow you to personally experience and decide for yourself if an online/internet/website business through Wealthy Affiliate’s training, tools, and resources are for you.

If you’re interested and are not among the excluded countries listed above then we would love to invite you to be part of the most, ethical, honest, scam free, community on the internet.

Which leads to to the final 4) Draw your own conclusions on how realistic, fabricated, influenced, or exaggerated it is to make money online.

Based on the information I’ve provided, how realistic do you believe it would be to make money online?

If you have any comments, replies or questions I would love to hear from you and I’ll do my best to be prompt to reply.

For now, I hope to see you around as a new member of our community and will keep an eye opened for you.

So, in conclusion, I hope I’ve provided some answers and brought you some clarity on Why It Is So Hard To Make Money Online.
